General Brock / Crowne Plaza Hotel – Then and Now
Jul-14-2010 By admin

The hotel that is now known as the Crowne Plaza was built on a location directly across from breathtaking Niagara Falls in 1929 as the Hotel General Brock, honoring one of Canada’s greatest heroes. It was aquired by Sheraton in the ’50s and operated for over 40 years as the Brock-Sheraton Hotel. In the ’90s, the property was renamed the Skyline Brock, and later named the Brock Plaza Hotel in the early 2000s. Most recently, the resort property was renamed the Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls-Fallsview in 2008.

The front desk was efficient and checked us in fairly quickly. Could park in park in front to unload car and then drive to the outdoor parking area. We had a room with 2 queen beds overlooking the Niagara Sencea casino across the street – had nice lighting at night. The breakfast buffet was a little pricey but here is a Starbucks off the main lobby that also sells muffins and such. The sports restaurant downstairs served reasonably priced good food with a huge wall of TV screens to view. Great location – Only a short walk to the falls where you can buy the adventure pass to the park activities and/or watch the fireworks.
